MCP server
Your books, in the AI assistant you already use
Kept has an MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the standard way to connect AI assistants to software). Connect it to an assistant such as Claude, ask about your books in plain words, and hand it everyday jobs.
Ask about your figures
Ask what customers owe, which bills are due, what your VAT listing shows for a period or how cash looks for the coming months. The assistant answers from your Kept books, not from a spreadsheet someone exported.
Hand it everyday jobs
The assistant can draft invoices and credit notes, add customers and suppliers, and send a receipt or bill to Kept to be read. Once you say yes in the chat, it can also issue an invoice, book a receipt or bill, or record a payment. Bank matching, the VAT return, corporate tax and closing a period stay in the Kept app.
It asks before it books
Before the assistant issues an invoice, books a document or records a payment, it shows you what it is about to do and waits for your yes. What it records lands in the same books as everything else, with the same visible corrections and closed periods.
Which assistants work
Kept's server works with assistants that connect to online MCP servers and let you sign in, such as Claude. In ChatGPT it needs developer mode. You sign in with your Kept account; there is no key to copy.
For owners and practices
Business owners and accounting practices can both connect it. The assistant sees every company your Kept sign-in can open. There is no public setup guide yet: talk to us and we will help you connect your assistant.
