What Kept is

What Kept is, and what it is not

Kept is accounting software. It records your transactions, keeps them in order and prepares your VAT and corporate tax figures. The decisions and the filing stay with you.

What Kept is

01

Software for your books

Kept records sales, purchases, bank lines and payments in a double-entry ledger, with the document behind each entry.

02

It prepares your tax figures

Kept computes the VAT return from your books and builds the corporate tax computation on your IFRS for SMEs financial statements, so you can see where each figure comes from.

03

A record that holds

Posted entries are reversed, never edited. Periods lock, and a filed return is kept exactly as it was filed.

04

A place to work with your accountant

Your accountant or practice can work in the same books with their own access, while your company stays the owner.

What Kept is not

Kept is software, not a firm. It does not take on the work that belongs to you or to a professional you appoint.

  • Kept is not a registered tax agent with the Federal Tax Authority.
  • Kept does not give tax advice or decide how a transaction should be treated for tax.
  • Kept does not represent your company before the Federal Tax Authority.
  • Kept does not file or submit returns on your behalf. You or your accountant file them in EmaraTax.
  • Kept is not an auditor and does not audit or certify your financial statements.

Who is responsible for what

Your company
The returns and financial statements are your company's. You, or the tax agent or accountant you appoint, check them, file them and remain responsible for them.
Kept
Kept keeps the records, shows how each figure was reached and prepares the returns for you to check. It does not make tax decisions for you.
Your accountant
If you work with an accountant or tax agent, they can work in your books in Kept with their own access. If you do not have one, Kept does not supply one.

Stop typing in receipts. Start checking them.
