What Kept does

What Kept does today

This page says plainly what Kept does now. You can trace every figure back to where it came from.

Built and working today

01

Invoices and credit notes

Tax invoices and credit notes (which correct or cancel part of an invoice) follow the UAE e-invoicing data model and are numbered in order. Customers and suppliers share one contact list, so the same contact works for both sales and purchases.

02

VAT

Tax codes are set per emirate. The VAT return is worked out from your books. Before you rely on a figure, you can open any box and see the records behind it.

03

Corporate tax

Kept first prepares your financial statements under IFRS for SMEs (the accounting standard for smaller companies). Your corporate tax is then worked out from the profit they show. Each adjustment has its reason noted.

04

The bank

Import bank statements. Kept checks them so nothing comes in twice. Match each line to its invoice or bill, and set rules that sort payments that repeat.

05

Bills, people and assets

Supplier bills, purchase orders, staff expense claims, salaries and end-of-service gratuity, long-term assets such as equipment and their loss of value over time, stock counts, budgets and costs per job. All of it sits in the same books.

06

Foreign currency

Invoices in other currencies use that day's exchange rate. At year end, amounts still unpaid are updated to what they are worth then. If the rate changes between an invoice and its payment, Kept records the difference.

07

Arabic and English

Work in Arabic or English. Arabic navigation, tables and reports read from right to left.

08

A full record of changes

Kept records who changed what and when. Once an entry is in your books, it is not edited. A correction cancels it with an opposite entry, so the history of every figure stays intact.

What Kept does not do

These sentences matter as much as the list above.

  • Kept prepares figures; a person files them. Kept does not file, submit or transmit anything to any authority.
  • Kept is not certified, accredited or approved by any authority, and it does not claim to be.
  • E-invoices are built for the UAE e-invoicing model, but the link to the official format is not finished, so nothing is sent yet.
  • Kept reads photos of receipts and suggests how to record them, but nothing goes into your books until a person confirms it.
  • Kept does not fetch statements from your bank by itself. You import the file your bank provides.

Stop typing in receipts. Start checking them.
